- Wednesday markets will only be at City Park. All Wednesday pickups will be at City Park in the morning or you may choose an afternoon/evening pickup at Experience Olives and Grapes. Wednesday market pickups will only be available mid-May through the summer...August. Then you will have to switch to either Experience Olives and Grapes or City Park on Saturday mornings. We will begin our season early this year, normally it is the beginning of May. We will begin in early April (weather dependent) with lighter baskets.
- There will be no additional spring or summer sign ups. Registration for the 2016 season will close at the end of November, when the Chesapeake Farmer’s market closes. Enrollment is first come first serve.
- Once you sign up for your designated day, you will not be allowed to swap days. It is your responsibility to pick up on your designated day or find someone else to pick up for you.
- ½ share baskets are designed for two people. Full shares are designed for a family of 4 people. A ½ share is approximately a ½ bushel basket and a full share a bushel basket. Bag quantity depends on the size of the vegetables. For example, 1 quart of shelled butter beans is equivalent to 1/2 dozen ears of corn. You receive 6 -8 different items a week. Yellow squash, zucchini, potatoes, corn, melons, tomatoes are summer staples. Among other summer vegetables they will be in your bags every week during the hot summer months.
- Baskets are primarily vegetables, however you do receive seasonal fruit in your CSA. I am not a fruit CSA, I try to provide a fruit a week to everyone. Full shares receive a quart, half shares a pint, or a melon or melons depending on the share size.
- The only items that are ever placed in baskets are items we grow. A CSA is a shared risk, nothing is guaranteed with a CSA. It's the way it works, we are all at the mercy of mother nature.
- You will be allowed to choose and sign up for your pickup location in early spring. Locations will include City Park or Experience Olives and Grapes.
- I would like everybody to be aware that we do our absolute best to provide quality vegetables and fruits to everyone, occasionally, something not so good will slip by, if you let me know I will do my best to replace it. Communication is key.
- A 10% discount is offered to those who pay in full.
- Our CSA is a long season it will begin in early April with small bags that will increase in size and we move through May and continue to right before Thanksgiving. I am increasing the length of the season because we will be taking time off during the season. This makes our season a 34 week season, however we will take three weeks off during the season, one after spring, one during summer and one in the fall.
